Share
Hey Angel! 💖
Welcome to our first blog post! I'm keeping this intro, because I know you're in a hurry to find a Halloween costume that doesn't look like you made it 5 minutes before walking out the door, even though you probably did. Don't worry I have 5 super easy DIY ideas that anyone can do so let's get into it!
1. Bubblegum Machine

Supplies you'll need:
- Any White Cotton Shirt
- Pom Pomps
- Any Red Skirt
- Grey Felt
- Sharpie
- Glue gun
- Headband or Hairbow (optional)
Starting off with the white shirt lay it on a flat surface and measure from the bottom of shirt up an 1/2-1" and make a small mark. (this will be where we put the 25 cents sign later)
I recommend laying your poms in a circular design all over your shirt and then going in with your hot glue gun and gluing them down, Be sure to place them as close as possible leaving no spaces between them.
For those that struggle to make a circle free hand you can print and cut one out in the size you want, place it on the shirt and lightly mark the circle so that it gives you more of a guideline to follow
Once all the Poms are place on the shirt, take your felt and cut out a 3-4in square write "25 cent" and with a sharpie or black felt make the coin slot opening under the "25 Cent". Using a glue gun attach it to the shirt in the empty space you left open at the beginning.
For those that want to make a matching hair bow, grab any hair bow and glue poms to the bow until the entire thing is covered.
For the headband, using a red headband measure about 3 or 4 inches up from the bottom and start gluing poms to the headband until it's to your liking.
And you're done! This is a super easy costume that takes less than 30 minutes to make yet still looks so cute!!
2. Painter

Supplies you'll need:
- Kids White Apron
- 7-10 different paint colors
- Tarp, newspaper or cardboard
- Black or Red Barrett
- Paint Palette
- Paintbrush
- water cup
- Scarf (optional)
Start with your apron laying flat on top of a tarp or cardboard. Grab your paint palette and pour out the different paints into each section until the entire palette is filled.
Dip the paint brush into one of the paints and using a flicking motion start splattering paint all over the apron.
Do this with all the paints or until the apron is to your liking. Make sure to clean off your brush in the water cup before dipping it into another paint color.
Once the apron is to your liking set it aside and let it dry for 2-3 hours.
Grab your paint palette and wipe off any excessive paint. Don't wipe it clean, just take off enough paint to where it won't drip while your child is holding the palette.
We still want to have colors on the palette, refer to the picture above. Set this aside to dry for 2-3 hours as well.
And you're done! This honestly the perfect last minute go-to when you're really in a hurry
3.Cotton Candy

Supplies you'll need:
- White, long-sleeve shirt
- 16 oz. polyester filling
- COLORSHOT Clear Skies Spray Paint
- Spray adhesive
- White poster board
- Hot glue
- Ribbon
- Tarp, newspaper, or cardboard
- Leggings, sweatpants, or tights and shoes
Start by laying out all the Polly fill on a newspaper and spray it lightly with spray paint. Let it dry completely
Next grab your shirt, note depending on how long you want the costume to be that'll determine your shirt size. The picture above uses an XXL large kids shirt for a 5 year old.
Spray adhesive all over the front of the shirt and start placing the poly fill all over the shirt. Repeat the same process with the back. If you want the costume to be fuller, place down your first layer of Polly fill and then spray adhesive and place a second layer on top of that one.
Repeat the process till the costume is to your liking. Be sure you leave some leftover for the hat and shoes
Taking your poster board cut a half circle and roll it into a cone, secure it with hot glue.
Take your ribbon and attach it to opposite ends of the cone, this what you will use to attach to child's head.
Taking some the remaining Polly fill, spray some adhesive on the open edge of the cone and stick some poly fill all around the edge.
Optional but you can spray some adhesive on to your child's shoes and place some Polly fill on the toes of the shoes.
And just like that, your DIY cotton candy masterpiece is complete! Who says the cutest costumes have to be complicated?
4. Cow

Supplies you'll need:
- White shirt or sweatshirt and bottoms
- Black and white Felt
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Plain Black Headband
- Cardboard
- Fabric Glue
- Hot Glue gun
- Face paint (optional)
- Fabric Chalk (optional)
Taking your black felt and fabric chalk, trace out cow spots on the felt and cut them out. If you don't have chalk you can just eyeball cutting out the felt into cow spots.
Don't worry about them being perfect! Cow spots are all different shapes and sizes! Make sure you have enough to cover the front and back!
Once you have all your spots cut out, lay your shirt and bottoms on a flat surface.
Taking your fabric glue put some glue on the edges of the cow spots and place it on the shirt. Repeat the process till all the spots are on the front and back of both the shirt and bottom.
Set aside and let it dry for 3-4 hours.
Taking your cardboard and pencil freehand draw cow ears on the cardboard, cut them out and place them on the felt to cut out as well. You should have 6 total pieces (2 cardboard pieces, 4 felt pieces).
Taking your hot glue gun, glue the felt pieces to the front and back of the cardboard and let it sit to dry for a couple of minutes.
Once the felt has dried, take your white felt and cut out some smaller pieces to place on top of the black felt, attach using hot glue. Set aside for a few minutes to dry.
Once the cow ears are dried, place hot glue on the bottom of the ears and attach and hold the ear to the headband. Hold for 1 minute to make sure it's secure, repeat with the 2nd ear.
And once again another super easy Halloween costume is finished!
5.Cloud
I couldn't find a photo that showcase what I trying to replicate so here are several photos for inspiration!

Supplies needed:
- White T-shirt
- White pants or shorts
- White shoes
- White Headband or bow (optional)
- 16 oz. polyester filling or pillow stuffing
- Spray Adhesive
- White String (optional)
- Light Blue cardstock (optional)
Laying your white shirt on a flat surface spray adhesive on the front of the shirt and place your polly fill all over the front.
Spray adhesive on top of the first layer of polly fill and start adding on second layer of polly fill. The more layers you add to the polly fill the fuller it'll become. Repeat the same process with the back and set it aside to dry for a few minutes. You can also use pillow stuffing if you want a more fuller look.
Spray some adhesive on the toe of your child's shoe and place any remaining polly fill on to the shoes.
If you want to add a bow or headband use a hot glue gun and attach cotton balls all over the front of the bow till it's fully covered.
For the headband, measure 2-3 inches up from the bottom and hot glue cotton balls all over the top. The more cotton balls you layer on top of each the fuller effect you get.
And technically you're done! But if you want to add a little more to the costume, take your string and from the bottom opening of the "cloud" measure how long you want the string to be and cut.
Cut about 6 or 7 strings. Taking your blue card stock trace out rain drops and cut them out. You can also print out a rain drop and use that to trace out on the blue card stock.
Taking a hot glue gun put a small dot on the back of one of the rain drops and place it on the string. I would recommend putting 3-4 rain drops on each string. Repeat the process till all the strings are filled with rain drops.
Taking your strings, place a dot of hot glue on top of the string and place them all around the bottom opening of the cloud making sure they are evenly spaced.
And your child is ready for a fluff-filled evening of trick-treating.
